Stuffed Animal Toys Dogs Faq’s

Jenny asks…

What does it mean when a dog eats the faces off of all of its stuffed animals?

My buddy has a 2 year old female golden retriever. He has given his dog several (6 or more) stuffed animal dog toys. Whenever she gets one, she immediately eats the nose, eyes and mouth off the stuffed animal and leaves the rest intact. Why is this?

Dog allergic to stuffed animal fibers?

I’ve been searching for the source to my dogs allergy problem. She has been to the vet numerous times, is on a high quality allergen-free dog food, doesn’t get any other treats except baby carrots.. but still she has terrible allergies. The vet insisted that her allergy reaction is likely from something ingested/eaten.

And then today I had a thought…could it be from the stuffed animal toys??? She does swallow some of the fluff/fibers from chewing/playing tug. As far as I can remember, there wasnt an allergy issue prior to my dog having stuffed animal toys. She is about 5-6 years old and has only shown allergy symptoms the last 2-3 years.
My dogs are on Solid Gold… the Wolf King blend.. its Bison I think. Its $55 for 30 pounds!

Stuffed animals for Dogs?

My dog absolutely loves stuffed animals. The problem is that she destroys them within days of getting them. We had a regular stuffed animal (not a dog toy) that lasted about a year but she finally killed it the other day. Regular stuffed animals seem to last longer and be more durable but they have plastic eyes that she tries to dig out. Any suggestions for VERY durable/safe stuffed animals?

If she likes ours better, take the dangerous pieces off before you give them to her. She be happy all the same.
